Customising the Layout and Cover Page

Enhance the layout & cover of your reports. Improve their visual appeal and align with your business needs.

Learn how to customise the layout and cover page of your reports for a more tailored presentation. By following these steps, you can enhance the visual appeal and professionalism of your reports, making them better suited to your business needs.

You can customise the layout and cover page for:

  • All reports in your Inventory Base account;

  • Individual client reports to meet their specific needs; and/or

  • A specific inspection's cover settings before marking the report as Complete.

Simply use the relevant Settings tab for each option to make these changes.


Adjusting the Report Orientation

Inventory Base allows you to choose the orientation of your report, enabling you to optimise the layout for your content. This customisation enhances readability and presentation, ensuring a more polished and professional result.

1. Navigate to the Settings tab at the top of your online dashboard, and click on the Reports tab:

2. In the Layout and Cover Page section, you can select either Portrait or Landscape orientation for your reports:

Portrait

Landscape

Portrait refers to a vertical orientation, where the height is greater than the width, commonly used for letters or reports

Landscape is a horizontal orientation, where the width is greater than the height, often used for presentations or wide images.

3. After selecting your preferred document orientation, the demo report on the left will automatically update to show a preview of how it will appear in your report.

💡You can also customise the document orientation for individual reports. Just navigate to the settings tab of the specific inspection and follow the steps outlined above.


Choosing your Cover Layout

Our latest enhancement to report covers now allows you to browse a variety of cover options, giving you more flexibility in customising the appearance of your reports. You can choose from a range of styles and layouts to better align with your branding and presentation needs, ensuring a more professional and tailored look for each report.

1. Navigate to the Settings tab at the top of your online dashboard, and click on the Reports tab:

2. Under the Layout and Cover Page section, click on the View All options to browse the various cover options available:

3. Browse the available cover options and choose the one you wish to apply.

Then, click on Save to confirm your selection.

4. To preview what each cover option looks like, click on the arrows to cycle through the different options:

5. The above options will only apply when you select the Full Page display option for your cover:


Customising the Cover Colour

Customise the color of the cover page of your Inventory Base reports, allowing you to align the design with your brand identity. By adjusting the cover colour, you can create a more visually engaging and cohesive report that reflects your company's professional image.

1. In the right-hand panel, choose the colour for your cover page.

You can either select from the available options or use the hex colour picker to define a custom color:

2. You also have the option to customise the colour of the text that appears on the cover.

3. If you'd like to start over, click the Reset Colours button to restore the default settings:

💡 You can also customise the cover colors for a specific client's reports. Simply go to the client's settings page and follow the steps outlined above.


Customising the Report Headings' Colours

This feature is designed to enhance the visual appeal and customisation options of reports. It not only adds a layer of personalisation to the reporting process but also facilitates clearer communication and understanding of data by leveraging colour psychology.

1. Navigate to the Settings tab at the top of your online dashboard, and click on the Reports tab:

2. Scroll to the Heading Colours option:

2. You can choose from the available colour options or use the hex colour picker to define a custom colour.

You have the option to customise the colours for the following:

  • Main Heading

  • Column Headings

  • Sub Headings

3. Once you select a color, the banner will update to reflect your choice, giving you a preview of how it will appear on your report.

4. Here is an example of how your final report will appear once your selected colours are applied:

5. If you'd like to start over, click the Reset Colours button to restore the default settings:

💡 You can also customise the cover colours for a specific client's reports. Simply go to the client's settings page and follow the steps outlined above.


Cover Details

This section allows you to customise the information displayed on the cover page of your reports to better reflect your branding and the specific details you want to highlight.

1. 1. Go to Settings tab at the top of your dashboard, click on Reports.

Under the Layout and Cover Page option, click on the Show More Settings button:

2. Under the Cover Details option, you will find the following choices to customise your report covers:

Show my details

Show client details

Choose to show your personal information, such as your name and contact details, on the cover page of the report. This is useful if you want to highlight the individual responsible for the inspection.

Select this option to show your client's contact information on the cover, making the report more personalised and relevant to the recipient.

3. The last option is the Show company name and address in the cover page footer.

This option lets you add your company’s name and address in the footer of the cover page, ensuring your business branding is clearly visible. This is ideal for adding a professional touch to your reports, making them look more official.


Displaying Contacts on the Cover

Prominently showcase your contact information on inspection report cover pages. This enhances professionalism, improves communication by making it easier for recipients to find contact details, and adds a personal touch to reports.

When this setting is enabled, only the contact's name will appear on the report's front cover, without any additional details (email, phone number, etc.).

1. Go to Settings tab at the top of your dashboard, click on Reports.

Under the Layout and Cover Page option, click on the Show More Settings button:

2. You can select the contacts you'd like to display on the front cover of all reports by ticking the relevant box:

3. Open your report and select Preview or View Report; the chosen contact(s) will then be displayed on the front cover:

💡 You can also choose to display contacts on the front cover for specific inspections. Simply go to the Settings tab within the inspection and follow the steps above.
