We're often asked what is the best device to use the InventoryBase app on, so this article outlines some of ours and our customers experiences with different devices.

This article will be updated every few months, so check back in the future if you're thinking of purchasing new hardware.

Apple iOS

Typically, we would always recommend the latest Apple devices. Apple iOS is as straightforward to use as it is powerful, and we prefer the performance of the app using Apple devices based on our experience.

The following models are recommended in order from oldest to newest for both Smartphone and Tablet categories.

iPhone 14 / Pro / Max

iPhone 15 / Pro / Max

iPhone 16 / Pro / Max

iPad Pro M4

iPad Air M2

Google Android

There is a considerably larger variety of Android devices on the market that would be suitable enough for basic use of the App (shorter, less detailed reports with less than 100 photos). For more demanding use of the app (large detailed reports with hundreds or even thousands of photos, audio and/or video) we recommend newer, more expensive devices.

Unlike Apple, Android devices rely more on the device specs to offer good performance. We recommend devices with at least 8GB of ram and 3ghz processor. You would expect to be paying at least £400 for these devices new.

Google Pixel 9 / Pro

Samsung S24 / Plus / Ultra

Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 / Plus / Ultra

Lenovo Tab P12 Pro

As there are so many devices using Android we can't comment on every one, however any device with at least 8GB ram and an 10MP camera should provide reasonable performance and quality.
